Applications were invited for the following purely temporary post in the UGC sponsored project entitled 'Land Degradation in Chambal Region: Processes, Causes and Implications for Agriculture'.
Qualifications: M.A./M.Sc. (Geography/Geology/Earth Science/Remote Sensing and GIS/Geoinformatics) with at least 55% marks.
Desirable:
i. Good knowledge of handling multi-sensor, high-resolution digital Remote sensing data.
ii. Minimum one year post P.G Experience in Remote Sensing, GIS, digital image processing work preferably through ERDAS & ARC GIS software
iii. Experience in Research/ Data Analysis/ Knowledge of SPSS/SATA
iv. Experience in handling GPS and other field instruments in field.
v. Experience in Field Survey
Period of Project: 24 months
Emoluments : Rs 14 000 per month (consolidated)
Job Requirements: Analysis of different satellite Imageries, extensive travel and field survey in various parts of Study area, tabulation and analysis of primary and secondary data, assistance in report writing. The job involves frequent travel and long periods of stay in the field are essential.
The selected candidate will be appointed on purely temporary basis initially for six months or till his/her service are required by the Project Director or till the validity of the project, whichever is earliest.
