Advertisement for Project Positions
Applications are invited for filling up of the following posts purely on temporary basis in the project titled “Study on Optimal Strategy for Phasing Down Coal Uses in India” funded by the Ministry of Coal, Government of India at the Energy Studies Programme, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University.
Post No 1: Research Associate (One post)
Salary: - 47000/- per month plus HRA @27%.
Essential qualifications: Ph. D. in Energy / Environment / Physics / Mathematics / Statistics/ Economics / Management or M.Tech./M.E. in Engineering with 3 years of research experience.
Desirable: Research experience on energy and climate change related work on economics, policies, system etc. with at least 2 research publications in peer-reviewed SCOPUS/Web of Science indexed journals. Knowledge of energy system models. Good experience with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Power Point), Ability to clearly communicate research conclusions in verbal and written format and report/paper writing skills.
Post No 2: Junior Research Fellow (Two posts)
Salary: - 31000/- per month plus HRA @27%.
Essential Qualifications: Post graduate degree in Energy, Environment, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Management, Engineering, or any related subject.
Desirable: Interest on multi-disciplinary research on energy and climate related work on economics, policies, system etc. Proficiency in Micro-soft office (Word, Excel, Power Point). Ability to clearly communicate research conclusions in verbal and written format and report/paper writing skills.

Note:
- The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier and the same can be curtailed/extended based on assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority for the duration of the project.
- Candidates must ascertain eligibility before applying. Applications of ineligible candidates will be rejected.
- The selection committee will shortlist candidates based on the experience, qualifications and the suitability for the project, and only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.
- The details regarding the interview will be notified through email.
- TA/DA will not be paid for appearing in interview.
- In case the performance is not satisfactory, the appointment is liable to be terminated at any time without any notice.
