This event will be broadcast via Zoom on

About the webinar:
Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) is one of the key areas under the umbrella concept of One Health (OH) that merits the urgent attention of national policymakers. India's National Action Plan (NAP) on AMR was launched in 2017. Given the unique federal structure, state governments are entrusted with the frontline implementation of most of the activities around human health, animal husbandry, fisheries and the environment. At least four State Action Plans – Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi and Andhra Pradesh – are now in place. Key issues for the governance of AMR at the national and state levels will be the focus area of the discussion in the webinar. It also aims to explore opportunities and challenges in multi-sectoral collaboration and the adoption of interdisciplinarity, which is at the core of the governance of AMR as well as the One Health discourse. The webinar will unravel the systemic complexities in the implementation challenges of NAP-I and the agenda-setting of National Action Plan-II AMR.

The Centre is one of the thirteen Centres of the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi that provides a holistic understanding of the region.

Initially, established as a Centre for Chinese and Japanese Studies, it subsequently grew to include Korean Studies as well. At present there are eight faculty members in the Centre.
