Teaching and research in French and Francophone Studies have evolved a lot from the turn of the century/millennium bringing in new concepts and theories in Translation Studies, Didactics of Language and Culture, Literature and Culture Studies, wheredifferent disciplines merge and mingle and inform each other’s’ methodologies. Technology plays a significant role in society and the classroom and thus has a major impact on the methodologies as well as the corpus of study. Socio-cultural transformations across the world have also impacted on language, literature, and culture studies. Hence, it is important to take stock of contemporary research – what are the new sites of inquiry, what are the methods, and what are the theories that have engaged us in teaching and research in French and Francophone Studies?
Some of the areas the seminar will focus on are: Culture Studies, Didactics of Foreign Language Teaching, Linguistics,Media Studies,Literature, Translation and Interpretation.
This seminar will provide a common platform to all research scholars to present their work in the above-mentioned areas.
