Applications are invited for:
- One JRF for the DST funded project “Analysis of cross-talk between adrenergic and NOX Signaling in Cardiac Muscle” in the laboratory of Prof S K Goswami, School of Life Sciences, JNU. The duration of the project is till 31st March, 2020.
Remuneration is Rs 25,000 per month with HRA if applicable.
Essential qualifications: M Sc in Zoology/Biotechnology with good academic records. One year experience in mammalian cell culture, Western blot analysis, standard biochemical assays like estimation of enzyme activities, Immunocytochemistry, cell fractionation etc.
Candidates having experience in animal handling and assays for reactive oxygen species will be preferred.
Initial appointment will be for six months and if the performance is satisfactory, it will be extended till the end of the project.
- One SRF for the DBT funded project “Studying the mechanisms of neuroprotection by noradrenaline, SG2NA, and DJ-1 axis in the context of Parkinson’s disease” in the laboratory of Prof S K Goswami, School of Life Sciences, JNU. The duration of the project is till 31st March, 2021.
Remuneration is Rs 28,000 per month with HRA if applicable.
Essential qualifications: M Sc in Zoology/Biotechnology with good academic records. Minimum of two year experience in mammalian cell culture, Western blot analysis, immunoprecipitation, Immunocytochemistry, cell fractionation etc.
Candidates having experience in animal handling and assays for protein interaction and cell signalling will be preferred.
Initial appointment will be for six months and if the performance is satisfactory, it will be extended till the end of the project.
- One Laboratory Attendant in for the DBT funded project “Studying the mechanisms of neuroprotection by noradrenaline, SG2NA, and DJ-1 axis in the context of Parkinson’s disease” in the Neurobiology laboratory of Prof B N Mallick, School of Life Sciences, JNU. The duration of the project is till 31st March, 2021.
Remuneration is as per DBT norms, i.e., @Rs 12,000.00 (consolidated) per month
Essential qualifications: Class X passed. The candidates must be experienced in working in a Neurobiology and Life Science lab. One must have sufficient experience (at least 5 yrs) in handing laboratory animals (e.g. rats, mice, zebra fish), taking care of operated rats, assisting
animal -surgery, -experiments, etc; and in addition to other lab related work. The candidate should be willing to work on Saturdays, Sundays and other holidays and take weekly off on other weekly working day(s). Over-qualified candidates (i.e., beyond class XII passed) would not be considered.
The appointment will be initially for one year and may be extended, depending on satisfactory progress of the candidate, for the duration of the project which may be up to three years.
